Frequently Asked Questions

Mini goats are intelligent, social animals that form strong bonds with their human families. They're smaller than standard goats, making them easier to handle and requiring less space. They're excellent for weed control and can provide milk (in the case of does).

As a general rule, you should provide at least 200 square feet of outdoor space per goat. They need shelter from the elements, secure fencing, and areas to climb and play. While they're small, they're active animals that need room to exercise.

Mini goats primarily eat hay or pasture grass. They also need a small amount of grain (goat feed) daily, especially pregnant or milking does. Fresh water, minerals, and occasional treats like fruits and vegetables round out their diet.

Yes, goats are herd animals and need companionship. We strongly recommend getting at least two goats unless you already have other compatible animals (like sheep) that can serve as companions.

With proper care, mini goats typically live 10-15 years. Nigerian Dwarfs tend to live longer than Pygmy goats on average.
